In our view, apart from overall design and usage of very good mechanical components, what sets a vehicle apart from others is the type of upholstery, and the ensuing afforded comfort. This aspect is clearly one formed from first impressions of course, and is therefore, doubly important. So many "kit cars" over the years have been badly finished particularly when it comes to the interior fitment and upholstery. Not only can this let the individual car down per se, but it is not a good reflection on the manufacturer, and could deter future sales. To this end, and in conjunction with one of our clients, we are currently developing a cockpit coaming roll system, which will become standard shortly. This system is identical to that used by Triking. We now offer two types of seats, 1) Bucket seats, and 2) Bench seats. 1) Bucket seats: These are individual bucket seats and offer distinctive advantages. They sit 25mm higher and the front curved padding is deeper, this affords a better leg angle and the padding is more comfortable for the underside of the thigh. The seats can be tilted forward individually affording access to the upper hatch in the aluminium rear bulkhead, and to the lower storage areas, for example, this can enable access behind the passenger seat (unoccupied of course) whilst the driver is in his seat. Behind the seat anyway is a very small area for storage as well, prior to using the areas under the rear cover.
Picture 1) shows the
hinged aluminium plinth to which the seat is bolted. 3) shows the
area immediately behind the seat. 7) shows an older style car
fitted with bucket seats, in this car there is no aluminium rear
bulkhead and consequently no upper access, this is not the
new standard. The cockpit roll can be fitted and the rear aluminium
bulkhead can be polished. The bucket seats are very vintage in style.
