The Triking-Morgan project.
This is a unique and therefore one-off Triking concieved by Tony Divey, and it will not go into production in this guise at all. It will be built up using genuine Triking components, and will utilise a Ford Type 9 gearbox, Triking's own bellhousing and unique rear swing arm and propshaft. There will be a choice of engines, from round barrel 950 Le Mans carburetted, distributor ignition, or a new fuel injected/electronic ignition 1064cc engine. It will be built up to a commission as a one-off car, which within the UK V5 document, will be known as a Triking-Morgan Special. A signed document from Tony Divey will accompany this vehicle, and there will be a special plaque fitted to the dashboard indicating that this vehicle is totally unique. The UK registration will be a new number. There will be a UK MSVA certificate (MAC) and a new MOT certificate. The style of dashboard can be pure Triking, or more Morgan like, using genuine Morgan parts. The whole build can be entirely customised to your requirements. Likewise, the windscreen can be pure Triking or a more Morgan like windscreen. It goes without saying that the front suspension is/will be sliding pillar. The pictures below show the vehicle just as collected from Triking, though we've added the genuine Triking front wheels (the tyres are merely scrap ones at present). 19 inch Akront/Morad rims might be more appropriate rather than Triking's 18 inch Akronts. The rear swing arm shown is not the Triking type (this will be fitted later), though a new rear drive is fitted, and as shown, the rear shock absorbers are upside down (they will be fitted correctly of course). The bodywork has to be correctly developed, the grp covers are currently just bucks. These will be totally refined/sculptured and new moulds will be made. Some genuine Morgan and Morgan three wheeler components will be incorporated into this car. The centre section of the chassis is pure Triking, identical to all Type 9 reversing box standard Trikings. The front and rear chassis sections have been developed as a unique one-off by Triking themselves. The side panels will be in aluminium alloy, as will the upper flat decking below the grp top cover. It will be possible to convert the grp front/top cover into aluminium bonnet sides if required, with separate scuttle and nose cone. The front grp or aluminium bonnets, will have Morgan style cut outs. The lower aluminium panels can also have deep Morgan style rear louvres. The seating and upholstery will be pure Triking and most likely will be made by Triking's upholsterer.
