Rolling chassis option specification: The chassis supplied is our
standard beetleback or barrelback chassis, epoxy powder coated in black.
All riv-nuts will be inserted. The pedal box will be bolted down to the chassis. It can be multi positioned via pre inserted 8mm riv-nuts. Steering wheel, steering wheel boss, upper and lower collapsible steering column (complete with steering lock), steering rack, and alloy steering rack brackets will be bolted to the chassis. Alloy uprights, alloy brake caliper brackets, alloy brake calipers, alloy mudguard stays, will all be bolted to the wishbones/chassis. The top wishbones are adjustable for both castor and camber (camber changes are easily made without disconnecting the top ball joint). 19 inch spoked alloy Akront/Morad wheels are fitted , shod with 4.00 x 19 Avon SM11 tyres. Grp mudguards are bolted to the alloy mudguard stays. All removable tunnel covers are carpeted and fitted via riv-nuts to the chassis. The propshaft rear bearing is jig fitted to the rear chassis bulkhead. This enables you to confidently fit your own swing arm and carden joint. You will need to decide if you wish to purchase (later) a non reversing propshaft, or whether you wish to purchase a reversing gearbox and special twin propshafts. Incidentally, you can retro fit a reversing gearbox as we weld a special plinth into the chassis as standard. Alloy rear upper bulkhead with hinged access doors is fitted to the grp rear cover (either beetleback or barrelback). The main aluminium side panels can be either bonded/riveted on by us (you must specify this) or they will be fitted on with temporary cleko pins, enabling you to remove them, giving you access whilst you continue the build process. At the rear, the chassis is fitted with a removable jockey wheel. This enables you to move the whole chassis around your workshop/garage, or outside, during the completion of your build. Remember, most likely you will already own a suitable donor Moto Guzzi bike, and will be using the swing arm from that model. If you already have your donor Moto Guzzi bike, you could have the swing arm cleaned up/powdercoated, and get the whole assembly (arm/final drive/disc/caliper/spindle/swing arm bolts etc) to our workshop and it could all be fitted up during the assembly of your rolling chassis. Please note: we will need older style swing arm bolts/pins, 20mm x 1mm and not the later 25mm x 1mm. Please note: Regarding
donor bikes,
you can use any bike/swing arm from the 850T series upwards, to the
2003/2004 California Titanium type bike. The later single sided swing
arm and derivatives are inappropriate.
